Black Swan is a 2010 American psychological thriller film directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, and Mila Kunis. Its plot revolves around a production of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ballet by a prestigious New York City company. The production requires a ballerina to play both the innocent White Swan and the sensual Black Swan. One dancer, Nina (Portman), is a perfect fit for the White Swan, while Lily (Kunis) has a personality that matches the Black Swan. When the two compete for the parts, Nina finds a dark side to herself.

Aronofsky conceived the premise by connecting his viewings of a production of Swan Lake with an unrealized screenplay about understudies and the notion of being haunted by a double, similar to the folklore surrounding doppelgängers. The director also considered Black Swan a companion piece to his 2008 film The Wrestler, with both films involving demanding performances for different kinds of art. He and Portman first discussed the project in 2000, and after a brief attachment to Universal Pictures, Black Swan was produced in New York City in 2009 by Fox Searchlight Pictures. Portman and Kunis trained in ballet for several months prior to filming and notable figures from the ballet world helped with film production to shape the ballet presentation.

The film premiered as the opening film for the 67th Venice International Film Festival on September 1, 2010. It had a limited release in the United States starting December 3, 2010 and opened nationwide on December 17. Black Swan received critical praise upon its release, particularly for Portman's performance and Aronofsky's direction.

Natalie Portman won the Academy Award for Best Actress for the film, as well as many other Best Actress awards in several guilds and festivals, while Aronofsky was nominated for Best Director. In addition, the film itself received a nomination for Best Picture.

We Are The World - Michael Jackson

We Are the World adalah lagu yang diciptakan Michael Jackson dan Lionel Richie pada tahun 1985 yang diproduksi oleh Quincy Jones dan dibawakan oleh supergrup beranggotakan 45 musisi pop yang menyebut diri mereka USA for Africa (United Support of Artists for Africa). Singel ini dimaksudkan sebagai singel amal untuk mengumpulkan dana bagi usaha-usaha penanggulangan kelaparan di Ethiopia yang telah menderita instabilitas politik dan musibah kekeringan pada 1984-1985.
"We Are The World" dibawakan sebagai lagu penutup dalam upacara pemakaman Michael Jackson, di Staples Center, Los Angeles, 7 Juli 2009.

SEJARAH LAGU INI

Inspirasi lagu ini berasal dari single amal "Do They Know It's Christmas?" yang dirilis beberapa bulan sebelumnya pada November 1984. Setelah sukses mengorganisir sebagian besar musisi Britania dalam Band Aid, Bob Geldof mencoba menghubungi musisi Amerika untuk membuat singel Hari Natal di Amerika yang keuntungannya bisa disumbangkan untuk amal. Namun, hanya sedikit musisi yang bisa mengatur jadwal mereka untuk rekaman. Harry Belafonte yang belum sempat dikontak Geldof, menghubungi manajer musik Ken Kragen mengenai kemungkinan menggelar konser pengumpulan dana untuk Afrika.
Ethiopia pada tahun 1984-1985 dilanda kekeringan yang parah walaupun hanya berlangsung sementara. Persediaan makanan dengan cepat menipis di Ethiopia, sementara penanggulangan kelaparan masih dibutuhkan di 6 negara sesuai catatan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB): Ethiopia (umum diberitakan di siaran berita), Chad, Mali, Niger, Sudan, dan Mozambik. Kragen, manajer Lionel Richie dan Kenny Rogers, tidak percaya bahwa sebuah konser akan cukup membawa hasil dan menyarankan Belafonte untuk membuat singel amal yang menyertakan sekitar selusin artis. Tanggapan dari para artis ternyata di luar perkiraan, Kragen terpaksa menolak sekitar 50 artis yang ingin ikut serta menyanyi.
Michael Jackson dan Lionel Richie menulis lagu untuk grup karena mengetahui nyawa banyak orang di Afrika sedang terancam. Quincy Jones setuju untuk bertindak sebagai produser dan mengirimkan sebuah pita demo untuk semua artis yang berpartisipasi, bersama sebuah catatan untuk "menanggalkan ego masing-masing di pintu".

Vincent Willem Van Gogh (30 Maret 1853 – 20 Juli 1890) melukis lukisan ini saat dia sedang berada di sebuah rumah sakit jiwa di Saint Rémy de Provence pada bulan Juni tahun 1889. Sungguh menyedihkan mengingat pada saat itu tidak ada satu pun yang melirik karyanya. Bahkan tak sedikit yang mencibir dan mencemoohkannya. Baru kemudian, setelah Vincent meninggalkan dunia, manusia baru mengerti betapa indahnya cinta yang dia tuangkan ke dalam lukisannya itu. Manusia berebut untuk memujinya. Memperebutkannya. Memberinya sejuta penghargaan.

William Shakespeare (lahir di Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, Inggris, 26 April 1564 – meninggal di Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, Inggris, 23 April 1616 pada umur 51 tahun) adalah seorang penulis Inggris yang seringkali disebut orang sebagai salah satu sastrawan terbesar Inggris. Shakespeare menulis sandiwara tragedi seperti Machbet, Julius Caesar, Antony and Cleopatra, dan Romeo and Juliet karya yang sangat fenomenal di seluruh dunia.
